I am excitedly following the Grandview District workshops, though I have been unable to attend any of the meetings. I live off of Interlachen Boulevard just 1/2 mile from the Vernon/Interlachen stoplight. I am certain that if Interlachen Boulevard were made more pedestrian friendly it would greatly expand the use of the Grandview District by local residents. Currently, Interlachen Boulevard feels too treacherous to walk with my children, even the short 1/2 mile. The city put in a one block stretch of sidewalk along Interlachen Boulevard this summer, which is a great start. My hope is that the city will strongly consider adding a sidewalk to connect the rest of Interlachen Boulevard’s residential areas to Vernon Avenue, making the Grandview District a pedestrian and bike-friendly gathering place for Edina citizens.

I will look forward to seeing the Grandview District Plans unfold!
