It’s been great to see so many comments on the draft Development Framework we posted at the end of January.
Those of you who have been following (or participating in) the blog discussion thread know that there have been a number of comments from residents of the part of the Richmond Hills neighborhood between the railroad tracks and Vernon Avenue.
For those not familiar with it, that neighborhood is unusual in that it can be entered only using Sherwood Road via the portion of Eden Avenue that runs between the Library and Vernon Avenue.
Residents of the neighborhood have raised concerns about changes the Framework proposes for the area between the Library and Vernon Avenue.
Here are two screengrabs from pages 30-31 of the draft Development Framework document (PDF) that show the area I’m talking about:
We’re holding a meeting this Sunday — February 19th from 3-5 pm at the Edina Senior Center — to talk with folks interested in that part of the Framework. I can tell from the blog posts that the residents of that neighborhood have a lot of experience and expertise with this portion of the District. I’m looking forward to hearing them share their ideas.
Please join us if you’re interested in that part of the Framework.

Hi,
I have been searchhing for information on exactly what is being built on this site and I have been unable to find it. What is the city planning on building here?
This area is in such an awkward part of Edina that to hear about open green spaces seems like something that sounds great on paper, but that won’t really be used.
What we really need it a bunch of gyms and maybe a bubble so kids and teens have a place to hang. And, why don’t we build a work out facility for our community?
Also, someone has to address the fate that a large number of people park in the library parking lot and the street opposite the library so they can take the express bus downtown. There are never any parking spaces at the library.
Thanks,
Laura
Hi Laura,
See the blog post with the complete Development Framework Draft. You might also want to read the comments that have been attached to that post… and then add comments of your own.
